Career Pathways in Electronics

What is Electronics?
Semiconductors, Electronics, and Aerospace are major industries in the Phoenix area. Companies such as Intel and Free Scale build microprocessor chips in automated clean rooms. Many others design applications for microprocessors such as cell phones, game controllers, and medical devices. Photovoltaic solar power is an up and coming industry that uses much of the same technology, as do the sophisticated controls in military communications systems and aircraft cockpits. In these fields, people may work as solderers and assemblers, electrical or programming engineers, or as technicians that test the latest designs or install and repair electronic devices in equipment. They must understand electrical circuits, algebra, and digital logic.
