What are Automated Systems?

Automated Systems are sophisticated, computer-controlled groups of machines and sensors that can accomplish tasks without much human intervention. Automated systems can be found everywhere, from a semiconductor fabrication site, to a water treatment plant, to a department store distribution center. Jobs working with automated systems include operators, technicians, and process and industrial engineers. Technicians are especially valuable employees because they understand how all the parts work together and can keep the system running.
